Select the Magic Wand Tool . |

In the options bar, enter a value in pixels for Tolerance, and make sure Contiguous is selected.
Enter a low Tolerance value to select colors very similar to the pixel you click, or enter a higher value to select a broader range of colors.
Enabling Contiguous selects only adjacent areas using the same color.

Click anywhere in the background of the image to select it. Most of it should be selected. To select the remaining area of the background, hold down Shift, and click the unselected areas. |

Choose Select > Feather. |

Set the Feather Radius to 1 pixel, and click OK. |

Choose File > Open, and open the image you want to use as your new background. |

Choose Select > All. |

Choose Edit > Copy to copy the selection into the clipboard. |

Choose File > Close to close the active window. |

Choose Edit > Paste Into to paste the background into the selected area. |

Select the Move Tool . |

Drag the background into the position you want. |
